Sunningdale Academy of Dance was established in September 2007 and has grown from a handful of children to recently enrolling its 100th pupil. Principal Maggie Purr has seen the school blossom with the support of the local community and parents and now employs four ballet teachers. The Academy offers Twinkle Tots classes for 2 year olds and up, leading into the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. The secret of sucess? Ascot Drama Club has been running at CMI for 5 years led by Nicky Ridley, a drama practitioner with over 20 years teaching experience. The Club continues to be very popular with local children. Classes aim: · to inspire children to use their imaginations · to help them devise stories, characters & settings · to encourage creativity through the use of drama, music & performance · to enable children to express themselves with confidence Class Two: 3.30 - 4.30 pm for 5-8 year olds Drama games, improvisation, acting with a scrip, songs.
